Campaign Story

Hello everyone! Our names are Alexys and Kaitlin and we’re onto our newest adventure of becoming parents. A little about us…we first met the summer of 2015, as coworkers then as friends. Friends for 4 years before Kaitlin and I became a couple in March of 2019 and it started our adventure of being in a same-sex relationship. It was also a month after Kaitlin was diagnosed with cancer, so we didn’t know how much time we had together especially with the harsh treatments she was receiving so we made it a goal to start traveling when we could take time off work. We have done many adventures together some new and some familiar. Fast forward and Kaitlin was told she was cancer free. It took a couple of years but we ended up getting married in the winter of 2024 afraid we wouldn’t be able to get it done in the future. Now we are starting our newest adventure, we are starting with IUI before we turn to IVF. Since the treatments were very hard on Kaitlin’s body ending in her being diagnosed with PCOS, she is scared to carry and prefers I do it. Which I would love but my first ultrasounds have shown I have a polyp in my uterus so I must have a hysteroscopy to have the polyp removed. I am hopeful it is not anything harmful to my body but the the surgery will only be partially covered under insurance and we still need to save money to order some vials in order to start the insemenation process.
